Not having finals and not wanting to study prompted a day of adventure. We’ll call it adventure Monday. Britney and I started off driving to no where and then to the Valley View Ferry to get some audio for my story. The ferry that is open every day of the year was closed today and we turned around. We decided to go to the cattle yards and take pictures and gather audio for my other story. In between the ferry and the cows we found a goat farm and a car accident which we arrived at before any ambulances. It was a first for me. They call it spot news and I didn’t know how to handle the situation. I stood back and watched for the most part. Took a few pictures and saw how close I could get with out them telling me to get back.

After leaving I called Ron at the Herald Leader to ask what the rules were about car wrecks. He said that it was news and as long as we go about it with respect, there is really no picture we cant take. Just can’t get in the way of the people working the scene. So that’s good to know. If they tell you to stop taking pictures, you don’t have to. Take pictures first ask questions later.

We ended the day at the cattle yard where the vets were testing the bull cow’s sperm. That is an interesting process to say the least.
